      • Providence House, a community project, is a residential development           center for homeless families with children, providing comprehensive               support services for improving the family structure, and moving the               family into independent living to break the homeless cycle. 

The Salvation Army

       • The Merkle Center of Hope: With 115 beds, The Merkle Center of Hope
          provides emergency shelter and temporary housing for single           
          women, women with children, single men and Veterans. These
          emergency programs are designed to empower residents to regain
          their independence and return to being self-sufficient members of       
          our community. This support system consists of on-site case
           management, 24-hour, 7-days a week staff supervision and security 
           monitoring, 2 meals per day plus snacks and on-site laundry 
           services. Additionally, the department offers life -skills services to   
           assists shelter residents with day-to-day care and services. In order
           to enhance our residents’ opportunities to succeed, we partner with
           community agencies that make additional services available as
           needed. Eligibility

United Christian Home Inc

         • United Christian Home, Inc. (UCH) is a homeless shelter consisting of              two properties located on Fuller Street in Minden, LA. The shelter can
            accommodate up to 12 clients. The main property houses up to
            three women and three children.  The second property houses up to
            six men.
         • UCH provides lodging and food for residents and also offers services
            such as employment guidance, directions to educational             
            rehabilitation, spiritual encouragement and direction to other 
            applicable programs.  Sources of funding include donations from
            individuals, churches
            and businesses and from grants primarily obtained through Webster
            Parish Community Action.
